Dominic Cooper Confirmed for ‘Preacher’

Posted in The Screening Room by - April 17, 2015

Dominic Cooper (the MCU’s Howard Stark) has been officially confirmed by Seth Rogen as Jesse Custer, the protagonist, of the comic book to TV adaptation, Preacher.

Preacher is one of the most critically acclaimed comics of the last decade or so, and AMC already has shown a willingness to take on dark properties with the success of their own The Walking Dead. Dominic Cooper was most recently seen on the Agent Carter show chewing up scenery as Tony Stark’s womanizing father.  As one who never had the chance to read the books, I’m pretty excited to see AMC take on something that isn’t derivative of one of their few successful shows and take on a property that I’ve always wanted to explore.

According to IGN:

Preacher revolves around Jesse Custer, a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a powerful creature that has escaped from heaven. Along with his ex-gal, Tulip (Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, the three embark on a journey to literally find God.

The official release date has yet to be announced.
