Seasons of Love: Rom-Com Movie Month

Venturing away from David Lynch and all things surreal, it’s February which means love, roses, possible loneliness, and heart-shaped candy that nobody even likes. It also means we get to take a hard look at a subgenre of comedy that is this month’s bread and butter, or maybe even it’s roses and chocolate: rom-coms. This month, we’ll be taking a look at Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a mannequin who just happens to find love in Mannequin, and what secrets Uma Thurman may find our domesticated pets in The Truth about Cats & Dogs. Rom-coms don’t have to be bad or sappy, at least we hope not.

Along with romantic comedies, we are also going to be checking out a couple new releases in this slow winter release schedule including Black Panther and Fifty Shades Freed.
