Posted in The Screening Room by - June 23, 2015

We here are Kulture Shocked are pleased to announce that early next year, we will be working with the Alamo Drafthouse Omaha to present specialty programming on a monthly/quarterly basis. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase films that we think are awesome, along with possibly having some of the cast from those films present. The prospect of getting to work with a theater like the Drafthouse that cares about movies are much is an exciting prospect for all of us here at Kulture Shocked, and we can’t wait to bring you more news as the year progresses.

For those who aren’t familiar, Alamo Drafthouse is the place to watch movies if you are a movie lover. They not only provide a wholly unique film-watching experience with their craft beer and cocktail selection and strict no talk/text policy, but also care about preserving film and VHS. They have created Drafthouse Films to share films they love with the widest possible audience, such as Miami Connection and Klown. Drafthouse also works with Mondo to create unique posters, VHS’s, and vinyl records that often coincidence with the many special events the Drafthouse puts on. The special events and specialty programming are what makes the Drafthouse so cool, from Sing-a-longs to quote-a-longs to screening films with some of the cast there as well. It’s a truly one-of-a-kind experience that no other theater can even attempt to rival.

I had the opportunity to speak with Derek Dillon, the creative manager at the Alamo Drafthouse Omaha, about the upcoming theater, what we can expect from them, and some of the unique feature the Drafthouse has to offer.
