‘Twin Peaks’ Revival Loses Lynch

Posted in The Screening Room by - April 06, 2015

This sucks. Showtime had planned to reboot the cult favorite series Twin Peaks later next year, and now they have lost the original show’s creator/director David Lynch. He released a series of tweets yesterday addressing the situation publicly..

As for Showtime they released a statement as well yesterday that addressed Lynch’s tweets along with trying reassure fans that Twin Peaks was still happening.

We were saddened to read David Lynch’s statement today since we believed we were working towards solutions with David and his reps on the few remaining deal points. SHOWTIME also loves the world of Twin Peaks and we continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm.

I don’t know what the situation is, and I can only hope that Showtime and Lynch come to an agreement and get the revival back on track, as it was going to make 2016 that much more of an amazing year for fans of cult TV.
