‘Poltergeist’ Remake Trailer Released

Posted in The Screening Room by - February 05, 2015

Poltergeist is a movie that is timeless and yet Hollywood has taken it upon itself to remake it. While I can’t say I was excited that when I heard they were remaking the film, the addition of producer Sam Raimi and actor Sam Rockwell gave me hope for the film. With the release of the first trailer, I can’t help but get a little excited for the film; it looks to stay very true to the source material along with bringing some new ideas.

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.

Poltergeist is slated to be released July 24th, 2015.
