Jacob Campbell’s Top 5 of 2014

Posted in The Screening Room by - January 05, 2015

To be honest with you, 2014 kinda flew by. That’s part of the reason I’ve been so lazy in compiling my favorite things about the year, since I kinda still think the year is over. But oh well, 2015 is here and it’s time to pop some champagne and reminisce on another year in the books.

Top Five

Chris Rock’s comedy in which he wrote and directed was one of my favorite comedies of the year. I grew up watching Chris Rock on SNL and doing stand up, and he’s always been one of my favorites. So seeing him being his old self was great and was a genuinely hilarious movie.

Too Many Cooks

This freaking video. This guy came out of nowhere and its just pure hilarity. Not much I can really say to explain it, you’d be better off watching it if you haven’t already.

GeForce GTX 970

Having built my first real PC this year, this bad boy is carrying me in the gaming world. Combined with the fact that’s its completely reasonably price for the amount of power behind a high end video card, this thing is amazing.

Big Sean “IDFWU” / Rick Ross “Sanctified”

I don’t keep up with the music industry as much as I used to, I’m more of a sucker for early ‘90s hip hop/rap, but these two songs definitely got on my radar when I first heard them. “Sanctified” is a great beat and “IDFWU” gave us a great performance with The Roots on the Tonight Show:

Rick and Morty

Totally stealing from Jack on this one. He’s the one who put me onto this show, and is it fantastic. One of my favorite comedies in years and the short 1st season makes it easy to binge through in a day.
