‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ To Feature Two Classic Characters

Posted in The Screening Room by - December 10, 2014

While the newest Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wasn’t critically well-received by critics or fans of the original series alike, it was financially successful enough to warrant a sequel. The next film however will feature two of the most iconic fan-favorite characters from the original cartoon series: Bebop and Rocksteady. These two mutant henchmen were mainstays of the cartoon series, always giving the Turtles trouble with their inept henchman shenanigans.

I love Bebop and Rocksteady; they are hilarious and were extremely memorable throughout the original series. However, I have my reservations about them being remade in a sequel to a film that was apparently garbage. No, I haven’t seen the new TMNT film but I’m honestly not going to go out of my way to either. I have such nostalgic feelings for the original cartoon and subsequent live-action films that I didn’t want to have those memories tainted by anything Michael Bay produced. We’ll see what happens but I don’t have my hopes up.
