‘Blade Runner’ Sequel: Ridley Scott Producing, Harrison Ford to Have Role

Posted in The Screening Room by - November 26, 2014

The sequel to Blade Runner has lost Ridley Scott as a possible director for the upcoming sequel, however he did confirm that Harrison Ford will have a role in the film.

“Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it’s about finding him, he comes in in the third act.”

As a fan of the original Blade Runner, I am hesitant now more than ever about a sequel to the science fiction classic. Even though Prometheus was not exactly what fans of Alien wanted in a prequel, it benefited from having Scott as the director of the film. Now that Scott has bowed of the sequel to Blade Runner, I have serious doubts as to the ability of the film to be as masterfully shot and directed as Scott’s original. However, the confirmation that Harrison Ford will have a substantial role in the film does quell some fears as Ford is still a fantastic actor. We will report on more news as we find it.
